According to a memorandum from Louisville Metro Police Department, Metro government has reached an agreement with the hotel to help first responders who are worried about bringing home COVID-19.
This is not an arrangement for symptomatic people. It’s designed for those on the frontlines who are healthy, but more at risk of being exposed, and are afraid they’ll spread or contract the virus.

LOUISVILLE OFFERS TO HOUSE FIRST RESPONDERS AT GALT HOUSE TO HELP AVOID INFECTING FAMILIES
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville is housing healthy first responders in rooms it’s secured at The Galt House hotel for Metro employees concerned about potentially taking the novel coronavirus home with them after work, officials confirmed Friday.
The city reached an agreement with The Galt House on April 8 to reserve more than 80 rooms on an as-needed basis for these employees, at a reduced rate of $55 per night, according to a contract obtained by The Courier Journal through a records request.
The special reservation rates, per the agreement, are set to last at least until the travel bans have been lifted.
